Studies show that music education can help to facilitate learning in other subjects. Waugh strives to provide excellent music education to its students.

Currently, 15 percent of the funds WISE gives the district is allocated to its music program. With these funds, the Waugh School District provides its students with 45 minutes of music education every other week. In addition, WISE provides recorders to each student entering 3rd grade.
This program is also not at full capacity like before state budget cuts. WISE would like to see music education increased to at least 45 minutes weekly for all students. WISE would also like to have band reinstated as a funded program.
  • Donate to WISE. You can make a flat one-time donation or a monthly recurring contribution.
  • Become a WISE sponsor. Local businesses are an essential part of our community-funded schools. Your partnership supports Waugh students while promoting your business to our community. Each WISE sponsor gets their logo placed on our homepage with a link to their business website.
  • Research grants for musical instruments.

Consider talking to your school principal for other ways to help out and a list of current needs.
